Press: Podcast Interview with Row Three at the Flyway Film Festival

flyway-2014-banner-crop.jpg

Last weekend, Matt Garland and I attended the fabulous Flyway Film Festival (alliteration, anyone?!) for the third time.

Instead of bringing a film to screen at the fest, as we've done the last two years, this year I attended as a Guest Short Film Programmer and Juror. The friends, parties, films and pie were as wonderful as ever.

While there, we ran into the guys from Row Three, Andrew James and Matt Gamble, and they interviewed us for their podcast about our role in the festival this year, our Resurrection Trilogy of short films and what else we've been working on. Thanks, guys, for taking the time to talk with us!

Press: Fangoria Magazine Shouts-Out 'Vivienne Again' Audience Award Win

After an amazing trip to Montreal to screen 'Vivienne Again' at the Mascara & Popcorn Film Festival where we won an Audience Award! Heather Buckley writes up a great recap of the event for Fangoria magazine. She covers all of the highlights and weird & wonderful goings on that make M&P so great. And she so kindly gives our film a shout-out, too. Thanks, Heather!

Announcing My Next Film: 'The End of Mara'

resurrection_map.gif

The time has come to finish up my Resurrection Trilogy of short films! The final film will be The End of Mara and it's slated for release in 2015.

The End of Mara is the story of a woman who helps her husband break free of a curse that’s brought him back to life and trapped him on Manhattan Island. This film, as with the last two, will be stand-alone and character-focused.

We're just getting rolling with this project and are in the script development stage now. We have our key crew for production and post-production already lined up - the same collaborators we created the first two films with - so we will truly be keeping the films all in the same world.

In order to focus on making this last film the best it can be, I'm taking a hiatus from my Script magazine column for the next few months to put everything I have into this project.

It's going to be an amazing ride!

Follow along via Twitter at my personal account or our production company's account, or on Facebook at The End of Mara page. I will also send out periodic updates through my newsletter, which is probably the best way to stay in the loop.

Thanks for continuing with me on this journey and I hope to share lots more with you soon!

'Vivienne Again' Wins an Audience Award at Mascara & Popcorn Film Festival!

MPV_skull_award.jpg

On August 15th, 2014, we screened Vivienne Again at the weird and wonderful Mascara & Popcorn Film Festival in Montréal and won a "Golden Skull" Audience Award!

It was an amazing festival overall with a Black Carpet event on opening night, five blocks of horror, sci-fi and thriller films screening throughout the weekend, and an Awards Gala (with Zombie Karaoke!) on the final day.

Festival Director Florence Touliatos is an absolutely amazing host and we were thrilled to be a part of this very cool, up-and-coming festival.

Je t'aime Montréal et Mascara & Popcorn!

Screening: 'Deal Travis In' Heads to the Twisted Celluloid Film Festival in Ireland

For the first time, one of my films is traveling overseas! We've been selected to screen at the Twisted Celluloid Film Festival, a cool genre fest that screens in a restored 18th Century church in Cork city, Ireland.

While I won't be able to attend this fest in person (darn!), it is very exciting to have our first screening outside of North America!

May 18, 2014 – 4:15pm
